Hensol Castle

The restoration, conversion and extension of a Grade I listed country house to provide a 5 star destination hotel and spa. Organised around two courtyards, the existing building is to be restored and converted to provide 34 en-suite bedrooms along with many of the hotel’s public rooms. To the rear, a bath stone clad extension houses the heavily serviced spa function at ground and basement levels (as well as an additional 21 bedrooms at first floor level) and is connected to a new glass restaurant block located in the existing outer courtyard. This new work is designed to be clearly discernable from the existing fabric which is either restored or adapted internally depending on its significance.
