Caer Wigau

The conversion and extension of a derelict barn located within the curtilage of a Grade II listed farmhouse to provide a two bedroom dwelling. The conversion is directly influenced by the form of the original building and locates the required rooms in relation to existing openings and features. With the exception of the bedrooms (which are located over two floors) all other accommodation is open to the underside of a new, concealed roof structure. Whilst the conversion provides wholly modern interiors the character of the original exterior is retained and only subtly subverted by the introduction of plain glazing, boarded doors and a stainless steel flue.
