The internal reordering and extension of a Grade II listed Victorian country house to provide new kitchen and service spaces along with improved access to an existing basement. The reordered kitchen provides a large uninterrupted space that is opened up to the adjacent gardens and woodland by the addition of a fully glazed stone bay seating area. The kitchen also gives access to the new utility and boot room areas, as well as the new basement staircase that is housed in a purpose built extension. With the exception of the kitchen and utility room furniture, the new work is conceived as a continuation of the existing fabric with most of the detailing based on the original patterns found in the existing house.
